The Walkabout staff would like you to give some comments on the Walkabout uLearning Environment by completing a short, online questionnaire. This is to gain feedback on how you went about your learning, using the Walkabout system. This feedback is separate from the normal unit evaluation questionnaire, done for all units at the end of each semester.

Before attempting this unit, students should have a knowledge of the basics of object oriented programming and HTML. The units FIT1011 Web systems 1 and FIT1002 Computer programming more than adequately cover this requirement. If you have not completed the only formal pre-requisite, FIT1002, you will not be able to enrol through WES. Instead, get permission to take this unit without the formal pre-requisites, by emailing Janet Fraser with details of similar units you have done, or background experience you have. janet.fraser@infotech.monash.edu.au. Take the returned email giving you permission to the Faculty counter at your campus and enrol in the unit.	In Semester 2, 2009 this unit will be offered at the Caulfield campus in the traditional mode of lecture and tutorials. Students located at other Australian campuses can take the unit in ONLINE DAY mode, completely from this web site. Online helpdesk sessions are provided for students to get assistance with their work. Students at campuses outside of Australia should check with their lecturer as to how the unit will be run. Note that this unit is not offered by OCL. OCL students who want to enrol in the unit may, but no extra features are provided for such students. In particular, the final exam must be sat on campus.

Session will continue past 7.30/8.30 pm if there are still students with questions. The lecturer may also be online in Marratech during some office hours. Check the right-hand "Notes" panel on the home page of this web site, to see if anyone is currently online.

To begin this unit, please go to the Administration section of the site (see menu at left of screen), and select Register details. Once registered, you will have access to the whole site. Note that you must be enrolled in the unit (in the normal Monash way) before you can register your details.

Walkabout u-Learning. This web site for this unit also displays on mobile devices running Windows Mobile or Windows CE, as well as on desktop/laptop or tablet PCs.
